Bonobo Winery was founded by brothers and longtime Traverse City natives—Carter and Todd Oosterhouse. As brothers, Todd and Carter are united by many innate qualities: determination, creativity, thoroughness, and imagination. They intend to make world-class wines but with a business model inspired by the close harmony of traditions, philosophies and ecological integrity of the region. They will employ local residents and utilize local resources to create an ethereal experience that captivates all five senses with everything representative of Traverse City.
2016 Pinot Gris
Our 2016 Pinot Gris is fresh, light and perfect for enjoying on warmer days and sunsets over West Bay. Tasting notes of honeysuckle, fresh nectarine, white peach and butterscotch combine to form a crisp, yet creamier profile. It’s silky style and stone fruit aromatics is what makes this a summer staple.
2016 Pinot Blanc
Our 2016 Pinot Blanc exhibits the Pure Michigan meaning of a refreshing beach breeze, featuring the natural acuity from the area. A graceful nose of Fuji apple and apricot lead to an impeccably clean and mineral palate. It’s silky texture is highlighted by notes of creme brulée, hazelnut and lemon pie. It pairs well with fresh fruits, curry dishes and German Schnitzel.
2014 Bonobo Red
Designed as a full bodied red to pair with any meal. Notes of earthy Cabernet Franc pour from the glass. The Merlot adds dusty oak aromas and fruit and the Syrah adds just a bit of fruit forward weight and complexity. This is a great everyday red wine for all occasions.
